How do you stay active as you age?

I try to always stay engaged physically and mentally, and I continue to always challenge myself.

What is one challenge that came along with aging that you didn’t expect?

As you age, you realize that you don’t have the same endurance you had when you were in your 20s and it takes the body much longer to recover.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone who is aging and wants to stay active?

You have to make it a priority and have a never-give-up attitude. Fight through the urge to stay in bed. Once you get up and get moving, you’ll feel so much better physically and mentally.

How has your career helped you to stay in shape throughout your life?

Throughout my career, I never got complacent. I always gave 100 percent and I always wanted to be the best that I could be. I never let myself get out of shape. I trained year-round and now I still train almost every day. On days I don’t do a specific workout, I am active on the golf course. A little secret: I recently hit my playing weight. It’s hard for me to believe at 53.
